The Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilties has hosted volunteers for many, many years. We have had an organized volunteer program since 1996 and enjoy the opportunity to work with interested individuals from Clermont County and the Greater Cincinnati area. Here are a few of the ways volunteers help us:
- Hosting Evening Activities (such as bingo at right)
- Respite Events
- Chaperoning Day and Evening Events with the DD Activity Coordinator
- Special Projects in the Wildey Adult Services Program
- Swimming with the Adult Services Program on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Serving on Committees and Boards (DD Board, Clermont DD Empowers Me Board, Gala/Dancing with the Stars Committee).
Volunteers can also come to us seeking service learning hours for grade school, high school, or college. If you are a student who has a set number of hours to complete, please contact us six weeks prior to your deadline.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, contact the Director of Community Relations (information listed above). NOTE: Volunteers over the age of 18 must complete a Criminal Background Check (done upon initial meeting/volunteer orientation). Volunteers CANNOT begin their experience until the completed background check has returned from Columbus. This sometimes takes 2-3 days but can take 4-6 weeks.
