The Families Connected offices is located at the Thomas A. Wildey Center,
2040 US Highway 50, Batavia, OH 45103 (one mile west of Owensville).
Mission:
To support and connect families who have a member with a disability. Families Connected of Clermont County was organized by parents who have experience with the systems and formed a group to support other families with information, resources, peer support in the schools regarding children's education needs, and through knowledge of service providers to support the needs of families.
Services Provided:
- Resource Library: A resource library will be located on site at the Clermont County Family Center. This is an ongoing project supported by other agencies and families to provide resources.
- Quarterly workshops with focus on providing families with information to make informed choices. Anyone interestesd is invited to attend. Funded by the Mental Health and Recovery Board,with inkind from MRDD, HMG, and FCF.
- Support to parents for their child''s education program
- Two Staff are contract providers as Kinship Navigators for Clermont County. This program support persons who are raising other people's children. The purpose is the provide them with the information to navigate the systems to obtain support to raise other's children. CALL for Jean or Brenda for this service.
- Contract with HMG as family support specialists, serving families with children birth to three years.
Additional Information:
Families Connected is partially funded by the Clermont County Mental Health & Recovery Board(quarterly workshops). Families Connected is now contracted to provide services to families in the Help Me Grow Program Birth to Three, as Parent Support Specialists. Inkind support is provided by the Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Parent leaders: Brenda Cox, Jean Houston, Nancy Jones, and Lamonica Friedman.
