In light of passing our Replacement Levy on May 4th, our staff, Long Range Planning Committee, and our Board are commencing our 2010 strategic planning process, which will look at services, both current and new, to be provided over the next few years.  This will be no easy task as there are more people with identified needs than we’ll be able to accommodate, but we are very hopeful that we will be able to use these dollars to have a positive impact on many individuals and their families.  Our goal must be to help as many people as possible, which may realistically mean that everyone won’t get everything that they would like to have.  We will be examining priority groups, mandated services, and people with intensive needs as our baseline.  As always, we are interested in the community’s input.  Please don’t hesitate to call with your comments, suggestions and questions.  I can be reached at 513-732-4890.

After careful consideration, we have decided to postpone our respite event which would have been scheduled this fall.  While respite is a definite need, we are fortunate to have enough funds from both our grants and our last two events, to fund us through the rest of this year; we will be planning some really neat events for this program’s continuation for 2011, so stay tuned!  We’re grateful for your current and past support and we can’t continue our needed respite program long-term, without it. And - stay tuned to our next issue of the Beacon for information about how you can continue to help this program just by shopping for groceries or gift cards – something that we all do all the time.

But while you are all in the spirit of giving, let me remind you that both the Clermont County Mental Health and Recovery Board and the Clermont County Children’s Protective Services will be on the ballot this November.  They will desperately need your contributions and your votes, and we are throwing all our support toward their initiatives for the rest of 2010.  Many individuals and families in our community depend on these two agencies.  When they call, please give them your support.

Enjoy these long warm days and evenings.
